A Prayer to Know One's Vocation

Lord, my God and my loving Father, you have made me to know you, to love you, to serve you, and thereby to find and to fulfill my deepest longings. I know that you are in all things, and that every path can lead me to you.

But of them all, there is one especially by which you want me to come to you. Since I will do what you want of me, I pray you, send your Holy Spirit to me: into my mind, to show me what you want of me; into my heart, to give me the determination to do it, and to do it with all my love, with all my mind, and with all of my strength right to the end. Jesus, I trust in you. Amen

Thoughts on St. Joseph

This is an interesting article from Lifeteen.com Check it out....

We all know that femininity is often defined by a standard of beauty. I think it’s safe to say that masculinity is often defined by quantity and quality of accomplishments and possessions.
Once I worked with a guy who talked about himself nonstop. It was exhausting the amount of smiling and polite nodding I had to do in his presence. If I ever tried to talk about myself – heaven forbid – it would last for approximately 32 seconds before he cut in with more “how much I drank” and “what my car can do” stories.
And it’s not like I could escape either because I was stuck sitting on a lifeguard stand while he talked to me… I mean, talked at me.
I’m not going to say all guys are like this… but it is how a lot of people place value on their lives. What you do and how much stuff you have is generally what a person is judged by – especially a man. Do more stuff! Buy more things! Wear good clothes! Work harder than Jobs at your jobs! Be more successful than Wayne Wright! Don’t know who that is? Me neither. But some dude has that name and he obviously wasn’t good enough to accomplish things.
Manhood has become defined by how often you can point to yourself. It’s all about the “me-god” and I’m hear to tell you that real women are very under-impressed by it.

What Does Impress Me

St. Joseph. He’s my hero in the Christmas story. You know what he said about himself in the gospel? This: “……”

5 Secrets to Successful Dating

A young man who works in youth ministry and has now been married 7 years offers his thoughts on dating and relationships.  "Not your typical dating advice," he says.  A taste:

5. Chastity is necessary for love.

When a person has not learned to master their sexual desires – but are instead mastered by their desires – their desires are inherently selfish. Selfishness and love are two things that do not go together. Chastity dictates that you love a person so much that you will the good for them...

Hi TOB Folks,

To start off our blog, I thought you might like to see again or share the video we have been talking about the past couple of weeks. Remember, Christ wants to work through us to positively influence the "user mentality" of our culture. Our mission is to share with others the truth about chastity and authentic love!

May God continue to bless and guide each of us and our journey for purity!
